Update your look with this affordable accessory that was spotted on the runway at Paris Fashion Week!
All hail the bandana! Remember how this paisley kerchief used to be totally in during the 1970s? Well we recall it vividly because our mothers used to wear on their heads all the time! Fast forward 40 years, this funky print is back in trend and was seen on the runway during Paris Fashion Week at Japanese brand, Sacai’s Spring/Summer 2016. Designer Chitose Abe translated the bandana’s prints onto floaty separates, dresses, skirts, tops and finished the look with the classic tie-around-the-neck style.
No matter how you choose to style the bandana, this square piece of work will surely add an edge to your ensemble. Anxious to get in on the action? Well, you’ll be happy to know that the bandana can be found on the cheap at Daiso and 77th Street! I purchased mine a few years ago at these two shops and on a bandana hunt recently (yes, I’m growing my army), and was happy to know that they’re still available there! There are tons of colours to choose from and will only set you back at $3.90 (at most) a pop!
So throw one on and watch your look turn from zero to hero. If you’re still not sure how to wear this trend, stay tuned for our version ‘How To Wear Your Bandana’ to get some inspiration. Coming your way soon!
