As much as we love caressing a Céline bag that we’ve saved long and hard for, we’re also suckers for good deals. Which is why we can’t help to bounce off the walls at every designer collaboration that comes out; we’re not made of money but we can definitely look good on a budget.
Target revealed that their next designer collabo collection, which will be out 19 April, will be none other than American brand Lilly Pulitzer. Designer collaborations have been known to bring brands that are only famous amongst the fashion crowd and those in-the-know and spring them to become a household name, and we suspect such will be the case for Lilly Pulitzer.
The brand is known for their vibrant, colourful shift dresses perfect for balmy nights whilst dancing the night away on the beaches of Phuket. The brand’s collaboration collection with Target will have a whopping 250 pieces of clothing, home decor, beauty, and accessories, with prices ranging from US$2 to US$150. For the first time, this collabo will also include plus sizes, which was one of the biggest complaints from Target’s last few designer collections.
Legend has it that Lilly Pulitzer, a New York socialite with a rebellious streak, started printing shift dresses to hide juice stains when she moved to Palm Beach in the 20s and started a juice stand. The designer passed away last year, but her namesake brand continues to steal hearts.
We can’t wait to see what the collection will have in store for us designer collaboration junkies!
