There used to be a time when tailor-made was only reserved for clothing; you’d visit the tailor your mum has been going to all her life to get your baju kurung or cheongsam made for religious or family-related festivities. In a world where selfies are celebrated and individuality is commended, you want skincare products that are made exclusively for you.
Yes, it may be fun to wear the same shade of MAC Russian Red with your BFF but no matter how alike the both of you are, your skin is going to be different depending on genetics, lifestyles, what you consume and many other factors that contribute to one’s skin condition.
If you haven’t heard already, Skin Inc, a skincare company headquartered in Singapore that manufactures their products in Japan, makes a bespoke serum called My Daily Dose, a magical little bottle that works wonders. With fans that include famous LA-based bloggers Aimee Song and Chriselle Lim, it’s no surprise that Instagramming this little bottle automatically knights you into the new cult of cool.
The bottle is more than just a pretty face, of course. The tailor-made serum is concocted after you go fill out an online questionnaire or undergo a face-to-face consultation at one of its retail locations. The consultation or the questionnaire takes into account multiple factors including your age, lifestyle, skin type, your diet and other external factors to determine the top three concerns of your skin.
The concerns then determine what three serums will be mixed to form your own personal My Daily Dose. There are 84 combinations so chances of the same combo in your group of friends are very, very low. Have we mentioned that the serum will be blended into a single bottle, in a colour of your choice?
The product is concentrated, so you don’t need any more than two drops for your whole face; if used daily day and night, the 20ml bottle will last you about two months.
Skin Inc’s My Daily Dose retails at $128 for 20ml and is available at all Skin Inc boutiques listed here.
