Some time in December last year, a notorious Singaporean blogger ran an exposé on a competing blogger network in Singapore, revealing many flaws and cracks in the blogsphere in Singapore. While we’re not going to delve deep into the drama, we have to admit that there are a handful of social media influencers that we’ll turn to as stylish voices of reason who are on top of their game when it comes to where to go, what to do and what to be seen wearing in the city.
FASHION & BEAUTY
20-year-old Trishna Goklani who goes by @trishnarawr on Instagram provides a breath of fresh air in the Chinese-dominated Instagram fashion scene in Singapore. The head-turning brown girl rocks clean silhouettes, easy-to-wear pieces but teamed a good dose of badassery that makes her stand out. We don’t remember being this cool when we were 20!
The stunning @adlinaanis shows that celebrating your faith in the way you dress is indeed possible. The hijab-wearing designer, fashion stylist and writer shows off her impeccable style on her Instagram and proves that you don’t necessarily have to show skin to look like you’re in style.
The affable @melanie_mak is a personal shopper at Topshop in Singapore, so as expected, her Instagram feed is full of all the things you want to own from the British high street store. We love the way she pulls outfits together for herself and her clients and you too can schedule an appointment with her at Topshop Knightbridge.
@stephaniebovis is an Under Armour athlete based in Singapore who also double as the Clients Relations Manager at local HIIT gym Ritual. When she’s not busting out some burpees, Stephanie can be found practising yoga, or meditating as well. Her Instagram is a great mix of the food she consumes, and photographic proof of her lifestyle. Stephanie was also part of Under Armour Singapore’s I Will What I Want campaign last October.
@clairejedrek is Singapore’s only race car driver as well as a fresh-faced fitness and extreme sports enthusiast. Her Instagram feed never fails to get us off our couches and into the gym. Full of travel experiences, fast cars and workout tips, Claire’s the girl women want to be and men want to be with.
@helloinfinite, or Amanda, as she is known outside the realms of Instagram is the co-owner and #girlboss of Japanese e-grocer Zairyo, that we’ve raved about several times now. Her food porn game is strong, with an Instagram feed full of lobsters (she also does PR for lobster speciality joint, Pince & Pints), freshly flown Japanese seafood and the occasional beauty post, Amanda’s feed is not only enviable but it’ll also get you hungry at the weirdest times of the day.
Denise Tan, who goes by @dktan on Instagram, works with the Unlisted Collection group of hotels and restaurants so y0u can find pretty pictures of food from restaurants like Bincho, The Market Grill and Restaurant Ember gracing her feed. Denise makes it a point to check out new and up-and-coming establishments so if you’re looking to try something new, check out her feed to be sure you’re clued in on the latest in the F&B scene in Singers.
@bunnysquats, or Ruiyi works for The Organic Grocer, so you can expect nothing but hundreds and hundreds of impeccably styled food porn she whips up using the ingredients from her place of work. We’re always inspired to whip up a meal in the kitchen and photograph it after checking out her feed.
And while you’re at it, don’t forget to follow us on Instagram too!
