Luxury cruises very rarely get associated with top-of-the-line parties. Entertainment? Yes. But, world-class DJ’s like Kaskade and Showtek? Not quite. Fret not for festival organisers Livescape have found the solution to just that— for the second year running, look forward to embarking on a 5-star vacation on board a swanky cruise offering, if nothing else, non-stop musical extravaganza. With It’s The Ship set to sail in less than a month’s time, we’ve compiled a list of the top 10 acts not to miss during the festival at sea. Anchor’s away!
As one of the headliners, two-time Grammy nominee Ryan Raddon (aka Kaskade) is best known for his progressive house anthems. Active for over a decade in America’s EDM scene, Kaskade remains one of the most prolific pioneers of progressive house. Kaskade got his groove started after his move to San Francisco, where a stint at OM Records saw him get swept up in the rising swell that was the deep-house movement. There, he developed his signature sound — those rich emotive melodies that eventually led to him being voted America’s best D.J. back in 2011.
Hailing from Eindhoven, the sibling duo have dabbled in just about all aspects of EDM including techno and hardstyle to progressive house where they have no doubt found the most success, collaborating with the likes of Tiesto, David Guetta, Hardwell and many more. Showtek’s long list of collabs even venture to the realm of pop and R&B, working in close proximity to Chris Brown, Carly Rae Jepsen and Jason Derulo have made them one of the fastest rising stars to emerge over the past few years.

This Berlin-based producer has been rising steadily in the house music scene within a short span of a few years. Already a household name back in his home country, Oliver Dollar’s quality tunes have been popping up all over the international House scene. His single “Pushing On”, a collaboration with Jimi Jules and released under Defected became the second most Shazam-ed track in Ibiza in 2014.

As part of the Black Butter Records showcase, Tommy and Jammo are taking the UK Bass music scene by storm. Known for the relentless sub-heavy thumpers, the duo’s dark, atmospheric 4/4 beats come from merging house with a heavy dose of grime, d&b, dubstep and garage. Having caught the attention of Zane Lowe, Mistajam, Rob Da Bank and more, My Nu Leng have become a regular feature on respected radio stations like Radio 1, KissFM and RinseFM.
Another addition to the BlackButter crew, Woz is said to have impressed the record label so much, they signed his debut “Seen” EP, on the spot. The young Bristolian’s signature bass house and UK garage productions have earned Woz the respect from some of the scene’s premier DJ’s such as Skream, Doorly and Marcus Nasty. Endorsed by BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe, Woz is set to conquer the international scene, having packed out clubs and Festivals from Fabric to the Outlook Festivals the world over

Trance and EDM legend Ferry Corsten has been a stronghold in the electronic music scene since the 90s. His music is best known for its emotional punch and nearly two decades and seven full albums later, he has succeeded in transcending genres to dabble in progressive-house and electro as well. Routinely playing in events all over the world with a massive turnout, his set is one we are definitely looking forward to.
Originating from Huddersfield, UK, techno stalwart Doorly is world-renowned for his massive DJ set-ups. After being discovered in 2008 by Pete Tong, his career skyrocketed and is now dubbed one of the best club DJ’s in the world. Encompassing a wide range of genres not limited to techno, Doorly frequently dabbles with garage, D&B, as well as a healthy dose of dubstep doused with hip-hop and indie influences — always promising a wild time.
Singapore’s very own RAH began her foray into electronic music in the early noughties where she developed an interest in the rolling break patterns of Drum & Bass. Her eclectic style has led to performances around the region playing alongside an array of notable DJ’s. With her affiliation to Darker Than Wax, RAH finds the soul within a large range of genres and a typical set includes a variation of Hip Hop, Dub and Afro-Caribbean beats.
- FAR EAST MOVEMENT
West coast natives are probably best known for their hit single “Like a G6” which catapulted them into the mainstream. Since then, the hip hop group have taken the world by storm with their highly addictive, energetic sets, launching equally successful collaborations with the likes of Tyga and Justin Bieber. Their signature brand of dirty electro-pop certainly justifies their status as one of the most highly sought after Asian-American rap acts around.

At a mere 22 years of age, Will Sparks is the darling of the Melbourne sound. His accolades speak for themselves, having been voted the #1 DJ in Australia just a year after being named the country’s ‘Breakthrough Artist of the Year’. Much like his infectiously, high-octane hits, he’s been making appearances all around the world — playing at festivals such as TomorrowWorld, Stereosonic and Future Music Festival to name a few.
