When you live in an urban jungle, it’s pretty difficult not to get smacked with a dose of claustrophobia every now and again. I’ve been craving more outdoor spaces to grab a drink and a bite after work or with the girls and luckily, Singers is full of great places to relax alfresco. Here’s a few great places for outdoor dining in Singapore. Is it just me or are the walls closing in…?
artichoke café & bar
This is where you’ll find all the cool cats lounging on plastic chairs underneath tall, tall trees. artichoke prides itself on its aversion to ‘pretentious bullshit’ and it reflects in the low-key nature of their space, from the logo drawn in chalk to their kitchen garden where they grow their own veggies. Serving up Middle Eastern dishes with a street twist, we’re totally craving their fried chicken and Khao Soi.

Featured as the header image of this post, this gorgeous this Australasian café and bar is a great place for a meal. (I mean come on, my need for a twilight date has just tripled.) Surrounded by greenery, it’s a casual chic resto to catch up with your friends and even offers all day breakfast – perfect for a hungover Sunday brunch with your fellow troops.

Da Paolo Bistro Bar
This alfresco bar and resto is one loved by foodies all over Singers, mainly because of their famous tiramisu. With amazing, amazing pizzas and a homemade Baileys gelato we’re desperate to try, this easy breezy rooftop is the place to catch a breather amidst the hustle and bustle. They also have office sets and a Sunday brunch menu, which is always a plus.

Latteria Mozzarella Bar
Fancy delicious dishes with a side of cosy enchantment? This beautiful resto is Singers’ biggest mozzarella bar and modeled after homey family-style Italian trattoria, with a lovely outdoor space perfect for chilling out in. Grab a glass of wine and absolutely tuck into the pastas – they also do a great weekday lunch special if you’re in the Duxton Hill area.

How about a lush tropical escape? Middle Rock hardly looks like it’s even in Singapore, if anything I’d place it somewhere like Phuket, and it’s truly a hidden gem. With a well stocked bar and a selection of tapas (truffles fries and a lobster salad roll? Hell yes), it’s definitely a great place to unwind with friends after work.
