For all the Champagne brunch lovers out there, you need to check out Melt – the World Cafe on 5th floor of the Mandarin Oriental Hotel.
Singapore is undoubtedly a mecca for foodies, with every meal lovingly planned and brunch is certainly no exception! It’s not just about munching on delectable food, it’s about the overall vibe, experience and indulgence, which is where Melt ticks all the right boxes. It’s busy without feeling cramped, it’s spacious without feeling sparse and it’s luxurious without being stand-offish. There’s also an outdoor area, which is a good option if you want to have a view of lush greenery – oh, and it’s strategically located right near the BBQ station. Yes, you can literally smell the grilled lamb chops and steak permeating the air!
The Champagne brunch offers not just free flow champagne, but France’s finest Veuve Clicquot, yum! There’s a vast array of cuisine, ranging from Indian, Japanese, Western, Thai and BBQ, meaning all tastes are catered for and each option is equally delicious – no-one will be left out. Personally, we loved the fresh seafood station, with lobsters, oysters, prawns, poached salmon, you name it; this station has it. Moving back to the meat, the honey-glazed ham is almost too pretty to eat, but rest assured, it tastes as good as it looks. Looking for Indian fare? Melt even has their own tandoori oven, which shows impressive dedication to the craft!
The best part of it all though has to be the massive dessert selection! For all the ladies with a sweet-tooth out there, beware! And make sure you save plenty of space in your tummy for some awesome puds. The Belgian waffle is a must, it’s crispy and fluffy – just the way it should be. Fan of a chocolate fountain? Fret not, Melt has the strawberry chocolate version as well. Another must-try is the homemade marshmallow – the strawberry one is super yummy! And of course there are cakes, macarons, and local delicacies. Don’t worry, there’s a juice and fruit section right next to the dessert table, just in case your conscience gets the better of you.
What can we say, we melted for Melt and will definitely be back.
