Long, skinny, crenellated; some prefer them plain while others love them with a drizzle of sauce. Why, we’re talking about the supermodels of the doughnut world and it’s none other than churros! These deep-fried, moist-on-the inside and fluffy-on-the-outside pastries have been getting a lot of attention these days that we just had to hop around town to suss out the best and latest spots that are sprouting out. Churros are traditionally breakfast fare in Spain, but here in Singers, we’lll enjoy them at any time of the day!
The brainchild of local celebrities, Syarif Sleeq and Malaque Mahlady, Chulop has taken the churros craze in the Eastern part of Singapore by storm. The husband and wife duo have created a brand for themselves (ever since their beautiful, star-studded wedding) and naturally, Chulop, a go-to snack bar became a sensation overnight with massive lines forming outside the store even before opening hours! The takeaway counter serves churros complemented with finger-licking premium artisanal dips and cool flavoured milks like salted caramel and speculoos!

Another game changer in the churros scene, Alt-Yard is the fruit of a partnership between local cupcake store Fluff Bakery (the #girlboss of Fluff was in our list of most inspiring women!) and café, Penny University. We gotta admit that this collaboration is indeed a delicious one because the churos are simply to. Die. For. Light, crispy and fluffy, Alt-Yard’s churros has indeed stolen our dessert-loving hearts. Just like how Fluff Bakery incorporates local flavours in their cupcakes, you’ll be able to find unique flavours like Ondeh ondeh churros too!

Hollywood Churro Co.
If you’re a brand that’s good for Universal Studios Singapore, then without a doubt: you’re good for everyone, us Sassy Girls included! Each time we pay a visit to USS, we head to the Hollywood Churro Co.’s stand first to get our sweet treat fix, hit a few rides and then load up on more churros (no kidding). The freshly made churros are soft and long and rolled in a pan of cinnamon powder and sugar before being wrapped up. No dips, nothing. Every bite into the warm sugary goodness is a like a walk down memory lane from our first trip to Disneyland in L.A.…

A pop-up concept that’s found temporary homes in a few heartland locations, Churros Factory has come a long way from its humble beginnings from catering for special occasions such as parties or events (they still do catering). Their stalls are decorated with crates and accented with vintage decorations giving it a rustic vibe. Choose from a set of three or six churros that comes with a choco drizzle and sugar cinnamon dip. Other dips include peanut butter, butter scothc, gula melaka and many more! Oh, and did we mention that they deliver churros to your door step too?
Known to serve one of the most fattest churros around, Grub offers their signature churros with chocolate dips complete with a scenic view of the park! We’ve heard so many good and yummy things about the tangy creme anglaise sauce that comes along the churros that we had to head on down for a taste. And when we did, let’s just say it was heaven on earth. Perfect bliss. Grub’s churros are a must-try for sure!

This quaint café is located in the heartlands, in an area that still contains some of Singapore’s old history. There’s everything sweet and savoury here from desserts to coffee, but the standout item that keeps people coming back for more are their deep fried churros of course. Speckled with a generous serving of cinnamon, this treat is best eaten with a hot cup of joe.

A South American restaurant, PISCO is family-friendly and located in Resorts World Sentosa. Their affordable set lunch at $18++ is hearty and wholesome but of course, we’re not talking about main courses here – it’s churros we’re after! Order a serving of churros on top of your set lunch or just grab them by themselves. If you prefer yours with dark chocolate sauce, dip away!

Department of Caffeine
Nestled in the hip and cool area of Duxton, Department of Caffeine has a good rep for serving one heck of a cuppa. We’ve recently discovered that their churros is a strong contender too! Moist on the inside and crispy on the outside, they’ve got just the right amount of sugar and cinnamon served with a kahlua chocolate dip on the side. Definitely a must-try when you’re in the area.

Alegro Churros Bar
The pioneer in the churros scene here, Alegro Churros Bar was the first dedicated churros spot in town and originally the only importer of specialty equipment from Spain! Offering authentic Spanish churros, this bar located in the heart of Clarke Quay is equally known for its original house and frozen cocktails. So the next time you’re craving something sweet after a night of dancing, pop by Alegro Churros Bar!

Max Brenner Chocolate Bar
As one of the best chocolate spots around, it’s only natural that everything else on the menu is delish right? Right on the money, we tell you! The Crystal Sugar Churros Fondue features muddled raspberries and a choice of three pure dips (either dark chocolate, milk or white chocolate) for those who love their churros with a little something sour and tangy.
