If you’ve read my beauty posts before, you will know I am a huge fan of the Strip/ Qi Mantra chains. Clean, efficient and professional – they are always on my speed dial. So, when they called to tell me about a new, quick, easy and effective facial they were launching called the GG2 facial, I was down there faster than you can say ‘rejuvenated’.
Taking the machinery from the much-loved and used IPL machines, those clever folks at Strip have added a specially designed applicator to provide a treatment far more effective than a regular facial. Working through the infa-red light, it promises a more radiant, less pigmented, line-free you in just twenty minutes. Sound good? Well, it really is.
One of the main things I loved about this facial to be honest was how quick it was. Ideal for working girls (it can literally be done in your lunch hour) or just those not huge fans of hours and hours in the spa, I was not only in and out in twenty minutes, but thanks to the fact it’s about the light power not the product, I didn’t have to deal with the dread goo in my hair afterwards.
So how does it work? Well, girls this is one high-tech treatment. First your eyes are gently covered with goggles to protect them from the power of the IPL light, and then comes the slightly painful part. Cold, almost numbing cream, is applied to each section of your face (although they warned me it would be cold, it still made me gasp) before the machine is rolled over your face, section by section. Using the light to stimulate collagen and lighten pigmentation, you can only feel the slightest tingle during this part. With each section taking just minutes, the treatment is over before you know it.
So did it work? Well, in a word, yes. While there’s no denying we all look better immediately after a facial, this one just kept on going. My skin really did glow, my lines really were a little reduced and my skin really did look brighter for at least two weeks after. Best used as part of a course to combat lines and pigmentation, lets just say this will be the first of many GG2 facials.
