Who said you need contacts to look good? To all you fellow spectacled Sassy Girls out there, this is a love letter from me to you. Some days, it’s just not worth popping your contacts in but that doesn’t mean you have to sacrifice your war paint! I’ve rounded up five of the best make-up tutorials for ladies with glasses; whether you’re looking to rock a natural everyday look or channel the power of a sexretary below…
The Natural Look
Glasses are going to do slightly strange things to your foundation, but thank god RubyGolani’s come up with a few foolproof ways to keep it from smearing onto your glasses. (We love her slight snark, “Please don’t use any reds for this look, you might look like an adult actress if you do.” Shade!)
For a strong, striking cat eye that’ll survive your lenses, From Head To Toe has come up with a fab look using liquid liner and gunmetal eye shadows. Perfect for those of us with monolids, she even tries out a number of different glasses and foregoes the fake eyelashes – nothing worse than having them smash against your lenses. (Grr!)
Lips, lips, lips
Direct the attention away from your frames ladies, and get people to focus on your glowing smiles. Charisse shares not one, but two fab looks for bespectacled bellas: one that’s all about the smoky eye (conquer neutral lipstick, girls!) and another centred around an absolutely sassy blackcurrant lip.
The Welcome Matte
Tanya Burr’s a girl after my own heart, having embraced the glory of the power brow. She actually collaborated with the British eyewear supermoguls Specsavers on this video, which is both a great and not so great thing – maybe skip out once the make-up tutorial’s done and avoid the thinly veiled sales pitch.
The Sexy Librarian
Heading out on the town, but your contacts are out of order? Don’t worry girls, Hayley Kassel’s got a gorgeous make-up tutorial to make sure you look glam even with your frames on. If you haven’t worked up the nerve for that firetruck red, swap it out for something a little more understated; those bronze lids and long lashes will do all the work.
