Can I tell you something? I’m getting married tomorrow!
I’m incredibly excited, obviously. I’m not having a bridal meltdown of any sort because our receptions (yes, we have two, both across the world from each other and a few weeks apart) will only be in the later part of the year; for now, I’m absolutely elated that I’ll be hyphenating my last name, and being a Mrs.
In the midst of all that wedding paperwork, we managed to whip up quite the wicked line-up for February. You don’t need a reminder that Valentine’s Day and Chinese New Year arejust around the corner. We know getting naughty can be a little tough for those who live with your parents, so we’ve rounded up some staycation suggestions so you can have some space to yourselves, albeit just for a night or two. If it’s gift ideas you want, we’ve got gifts for Hello Kitty lovers (I’m guilty as charged!) and a list you should send to your partner for all the made-in-Singapore gifts you should, you know, bookmark on your partner’s laptop.
And if whether you’re single or not, our sex toy shopping guide is definitely something to read, and send to your BFFs. You never know when you’ll get a BOGO deal online these days.
I’m going to admit it – I’ve never been a fan of Valentine’s Day. It didn’t make sense for me to celebrate the people I love on one day, but who am I to stop the Hallmarking, the chocolate hearts and the stuffed animals? But if there’s one thing you should absolutely do this Valentine’s Day, it’s love yourself.
Go on, love yourself. It’s not easy, but go ahead and do the crazy thing. The thing that’s in your hearts of hearts. Do it. The hard-to-imagine-but-somehow-you-did-thing. The once-in-your-life-thing. The impossible. The one-that-would-bring-you-to-your-knees-and-thank-God-for-your-brains thing. Trust me, love yourself. Take that leap. Because while that thing you’ve been wanting to do might kill you, and people around you might think you’re batsh*t cray, not trying, not believing in yourself to, is another kind of death.
