As you watch everybody stuff their faces with every processed, sugary and MSG-ed edible product they can get their hands on, you have two decisions. You can inhale all the stuffing, toffee nut lattes and pumpkin pies together with them, or you could resist and continue your #eatclean movement till 2014 comes to a close.
If you pick the latter, and yet you have holiday parties to organise, you’re in for a treat. Afterglow, one of the most important names on Keong Saik Street, will be launching their tightly curated, raw and all natural Christmas menu – a fresh take that will help the faithful balance tradition with nutrition this festive season. The restaurant, which promotes farm to table food, will offer three-course, and five-course menus for both lunch and dinner between 24 December to 27 December.
If you’re curious, some of the highlights from the menu include olive and capsicum nut cheese with dehydrated crackers, dehydrated crispy lasagne with swiss brown mushrooms, pizza with a nutty crust and merry vegetable topping; and raspberry white chocolate bar with cashew cream. Everything served is raw, plant-based, and refined sugar-free so you can be sure you’re not going to be dragging your bum out of the restaurant.
Afterglow’s festive menu prices start at $58 for a lunch three-course menu, to $88 for a five-course menu for dinner.
