Once every single month, everything goes wrong. You’re more bloated than you have ever remembered you were, you weep while watching Modern Family and the only thing that cures the pain is chocolate. We completely get it, which is why we rounded up the five best chocolate-based desserts we love in Singapore.

Chocolate Tart, Laurent Bernard Chocolatier, $9.50 per slice or $58 for a whole tart
If you’re one of those people who hesitates and ask yourself, “Is this really worth the calories?”, let us tell you that this sexy little thing totally is. A creamy, chocolate layer on a thin hazelnut biscuit hits all the right spots when you feel like crying a river about everything in sight. The tart can be purchased as a whole to share with girlfriends whose cycles have synced up with yours, or you can just devour in the comforts of your own bed. You can also buy a slice, if that’s too much.
Laurent Bernard Chocolatier has multiple locations including The Pier @ Robertson Quay, and Takashimaya. For a full list of locations, operating hours and other details, click here.

All Chocolate Cake, Awfully Chocolate, $34 for 6-inch, $68 for 8-inch
The original chocolate cake that launched the brand Awfully Chocolate is still as awfully chocolatey as it has always been. While their selection of desserts has grown and we’ve come across some really tragic dessert renditions from the brand, their original All Chocolate cake is something worth going back to. You can’t go wrong with moist dark chocolate cake between layers of dark chocolate fudge after all, can you?
Awfully Chocolate has multiple locations including ION Orchard and Tampines 1. For a full list of locations and opening hours, click here.

Chocolate Lava Cake, Domino’s Pizza $6.80
Yes, in dire times and circumstances, you can always turn to a bottle of Nutella and know that everything will be alright. But then you’d have to walk to the supermarket, cramps, cold sweat and all trying to get your Nutella fix. Instead, order a Chocolate Lava Cake from Domino’s Pizza. You might have to order a pizza on the side of the cake, but it will be worth it. It may not look like much compared to everything else we’ve got on this list, but the rich chocolate centre will make you forget your last name for a split second.
Domino’s Pizza is available for pick-up or delivery, check out the full list of locations here.
Ultimate Fudgy Brownie, P.S. Cafe, $14 for dine-in, or $110 for a full-size 3.1kg cake
The truth is you there are a lot of food in P.S. Cafe that you can easily live without, and you can get better versions of the same food somewhere else. But if there are two things we keep coming back for on their menu, it’s their truffle fries, and the to-die-for Ultimate Fudgy Brownie.
The brownie is not for those days when you want something that’s not excessively sweet, because this baby is. A thick-and-heavy fudgey chocolate brownie is piled high with marshmallows, pecans and dark chocolate ganache. It’s nothing but a pile of pure sin. Delicious, pure sin, that is.
