Makeup Mistress sends us some beauty products to try!
We all know about the big makeup brands like MAC, Urban Decay and Tarte. We think that we have already have a great selection of brands to choose from Sephora and drugstores but the truth is, there’s a whole other world of makeup out there! If what we’re looking for is not available in brick and mortar stores, the only other option to consider is online of course. Enter Makeup Mistress, an online store that carries a wide variety of brands from the US; namely Coastal Sands, ELF Studio, Jeffree Star, ColourPop, Dose of Colours, and many more!
A few weeks ago, Makeup Mistress sent us some products to try and let’s just say that we loved the lipsticks and blush so much that we work them in our daily routine now. Read on below to find out more about our beauty haul from Makeup Mistress! Oh, and if you’d like to win some brushes for yourself, don’t forget to join the giveaway here!
Colourpop Lippie Stix in Peppermint, $13
The Internet has been going wild over Colourpop’s Lippie Stix and it’s no surprise why. The very affordable line of cosmetics from Los Angeles has made all lip junkies around the world go crazy over the highly pigmented colours and us in Singapore are no exception! Our very own Sassy Girl, Syaz has even waxed lyrical about her love for this brand. The peppermint shade lippie stix that was sent to us by Makeup Mistress has a rich and smooth texture that’s great for long-lasting wear. This shade is pretty universal and would look great on most skin tones!
ELF Studio Baked Blush in Pinktastic, $15.90
One look at the ELF Studio Baked Blush and you’ll know that the soft and shimmering colour will give you a healthy, radiant glow. We tried the blush in Pinktastic and loved the smooth and event application that gave off a sheer effect. We don’t recommend using this as a blusher but rather as highlighter (it works like magic when used for highlighting!), or use it to layer over your choice of a more pigmented blush.
Jeffree Star Cosmetics Velour Liquid Lipstick in Prom Night, $32
You girls know how we’re mad for liquid lipsticks right? The Jeffree Star version in Prom Night is our current obsession. The doe foot application (aka wand) has a wide end which makes application really easy. The velvety texture is great for long wear and leaves a vivid stain that we hardly had to touch up after eight hours! JS Cosmetics are paraben and gluten-free so extra points for this too!
