While we’re starting on a fresh new chapter, shopping haunts, food joints and beauty corners have been popping up all over town ready for our jolly new year spending! We take a look at stores like the uber-cool masculine-inspired label Joseph, local jewellery maker Taula, and even hip new foodie hangouts like Kite and Privé at Clarke Quay.
Brand new and situated front and centre at the Capitol Piazza is British label Joseph, which has opened its first store in Singapore last month. Their masculine aesthetics is especially wearable and will definitely be a classic staple in your wardrobes. We especially love their minimal use of colour and easy shapes that are timeless yet on-trend.
Sans & Sans
Already thinking of your Lunar New Year get-up? Sans & Sans has your back. The homegrown label has just opened their newest boutique at Wisma Atria, where you can find a contemporary east meets west concept. Think glowed-up versions of the traditional oriental styles – you’re sure to find a frock that tickles your fancy.
If you’re looking for quality jewellery pieces to wear forever that will stand the test of time, look no further than Singapore-based fine jewellery designer and curator Taula. Their new store at The Central boasts a hefty collection of sterling silver and solid gold pieces, some even adorned with precious stones.
VivoCity is now home to Urban Decay’s first flagship store in Asia. As if Naked palettes weren’t flying off the shelves in every Sephora store on the island already, you can now get all the exclusive products straight from their fully-stocked boutique!
Multi-label fragrance and beauty retailer Escentials unveiled its newly revamped flagship boutique at Paragon last month, which features a curated selection of all its well-loved brands in a more contemporary setting. Expect a new experience in the store as you rifle through their fragrance library, a dedicated make-up area and a mini “shop-in-shop” concept featuring amazing brands such as diptyque, BYREDO, Le Labo and MEMO.
Tanjong Pagar just got a little more cooler with the new addition of brand new restaurant and bar, Kite. Serving familiar dishes free from cuisine stereotypes, expect a mishmash of local and international flavours, accompanied by delicious cocktails for a punchy kick to your meals!
It’s not what you think – ADHD in fact stands for All Day Hotel Dining, a restaurant nestled in the ground floor of luxury and lifestyle hotel The South Beach. Not only does the food look mouthwatering, but the intriguing interiors designed by artist and designer Phillipe Starck (who also designed the entire hotel!) will have you gawking at every direction as you step into the dining hall.
Thai chicken eatery Bird Bird was started by the man behind Middle Eastern restaurant Artichoke, Bjorn Shen. Located in the premise of hipster joint Ann Siang Hill, we bet it’s going to be a hit this year. Reserve a table now before they get crowded!
