Alli Sim is a #girlboss who knows what we wants in life and strives to do it well. We say this because this former beauty editor is extremely passionate about her scents and she personally curates her aromatherapy goods, inspired by bathing and bedtime rituals. Alli’s brand Mmerci Encore seeks to give its customers a wholesome luxury experience right in the comforts of their own homes. Using raw ingredients sourced from around the world, expect nothing short of perfection with its 100% pure therapeutic-grade essential oils that are free of parabens, sulphate and synthetic fragrances. If you’d like to take your scent customisation a little further for yourself or even as gifts, you could always set up a meeting with Alli too!
Skincare has always been a huge part of Sabrina Tan’s life, ever since she was a little girl. Her late mother had owned three beauty salons back in the day and of course naturally, with a bit of determination and curiosity in searching for the perfect paraben- and fragrance-free product, Skin Inc was born. Their line of nine Nourishing Serums have taken Singapore by storm. The ingredients are encapsulated in seaweed and stored in pretty glass bottles. With just two to three drops per application, the tiny coloured globules will burst and activate the goodness of the serum. Our Ed has tried the these little babies together with the Get Glowing Brightening Mask and let’s just say that these products are a mainstay in her skincare regime.
We love Mandy T’s approach to skincare – simple, natural and effective. The brand believes that by substituting chemicals with safe, 100% plant-based alternatives and eliminating unnecessary packaging, we are one step closer towards making a world a healthier and more sustainable place. Mandy T’s products are created in small batches and the proof is in the pudding really – or in this case, their Jasmine and Mint Body Cream that has bagged many awards from local publications (amongst many others). One application of this godly moisturiser and your skin will brighten and glow, and feel instantly softer and firmer. We’re addicted.

After years of searching for a well-priced plant-based lip balm, Teresa Foo took matters into her own hands and formulated a moisturizing lip balm that also helped to relieve cold sores. The rest as they say, is history. Teresa went on to develop other products for itchy and dry skin and naturally, Balm Kitchen grew. This vegan homegrown brand sources its plant-based ingredients worldwide and extracts the natural flavours of raw and natural ingredients by incorporating them in nourishing oils. Products are all handmade in small batches to maintain quality and freshness upon order.

Skincare made with natural ingredients fresh enough to eat sounds too good to be true right? Wrong! In fact, Katfood’s philosophy for its products is to only put on our skin what’s safe to put in our mouths. And the best part? The products all work like magic. Ingredients are 100% organic, raw, unprocessed, unrefined and contain coconut oil because of its many benefits. This chic brand with ultra cute packaging stocks facial washes, lip balms, body scrubs, deodorants and many more.
If going out of the house without a coat of paint on your nails makes you feel naked, then you might want to consider wrapping them up instead. Well, stylishly of course. Gummi Nails is a cool homegrown nail wrap brand that’s fashion-forward and effortless. In fact, we’re obsessed with all of their designs! Gummi Nails has collaborated with many brands including fashion label, Depression and leading advertising agency, Goodstuph. How does it work, you ask? Simply peel and paste the wrap on your nail; file and you’re good to go!

Whenever a brand or product is created and is the first at something, that’s definitely an achievement to shout out about. Coat is Singer’s first-ever organic nail polish brand and producer of the first 5-Free nail lacquer, meaning the formulas don’t contain formaldehyde, resin, camphor, toluene and dibutyl phthalate. (Basically, all the bad stuff.) A brainchild of Caryn Lim, owner of nail salon, Hands + Feet studio (together with three friends), Coat offers up to 20 richly pigmented colours! Now, who said nail polish is harmful?
Coat is available at Hands + Feet Studio, 44 Siglap Drive, Tel: (+65) 6448 7187
These days, we’re more discerning about the products in our makeup repertoire and it’s important to to support cruelty-free products. Combining their love for make-up and animals, Tay Yu Hui and Charlene Liew decided to come up with a line of affordable cruelty free make-up brushes that are cruelty-free. 13rushes was then born and the #girlbosses operate on a strict policy, where the factories that they work with must not process any type of animal products. Their brushes are so plush and feature Taklon bristles, plus they’re created for Asian eye contours. We admittedly love the “I need a vaincation!” set that’s super portable and lightweight – perfect for our travels!
Dermagold’s products are created by Dr Lim Luping and Dr Grace Ling. Yes girls: doctors. The products are a hot favourite among beauty editors and obviously, it’s not hard to see why. Made without parabens, textures of the creams are ultra-light and many of the products contain a higher level of active ingredient compared to others. For example, the Miracle C+ serum contains 18 per cent vitamin C and that’s a whole lotta vitamins if you ask us! Briding the gap between medical-grade products and over-the-counter skincare, Dermagold is a good brand to have in your skincare repertoire.
Dermagold products are available at Hadara Aesthetics Boutique, 23 Lorong Telok, Tel: (+65) 6969 3022.
